Materials:
- Pre-drawn, already lined (preferably in black) comic page
- A program to use (i.e. Photoshop, GIMP - GIMP can be downloaded legally for FREE. Just Google it.)
- A tablet or a mouse (It's harder with a mouse, mind you)
- Hand-eye coordination (It's even harder without this)
- Ability to read English (I'm pretty sure that, if you got this far, you can read English)
Let's get started!

Clean up your picture!

Add the tones, now!
- Let's get started by scanning your picture - MAKE SURE YOUR WORDS ARE INTACT

- Increase the contrast and decrease the brightness until you get the desired effect - You can get to this tool on GIMP by clicking on the tab in the top left titled "Colors" and then clicking on "Brightness-Contrast Tool" to get to the scale that will appear
- Take the eraser tool to the picture and erase the unwanted bits - including the words
Remember: Colors>Brightness/Contrast Tool
Step 3:
Add the tones, now!
- Create a new layer
- Draw a line in black on that layer
- Adjust the opacity for that layer until you get the desire shade of grey
- Create a new layer for each shade of grey you plan on using
Remember: Dialogs>Layers (Or press Ctrl+L)
- Select the area that you want to fill in using the Free Select Tool or the Fuzzy Select Tool (The magic wand, on Photoshop)
- Fill in the area using the Bucket Fill Tool in black on your new layer

Now, add the words!
- Colour in the area you wish to add a tone to in black using the Brush Tool on the new layer

Use: Text Tool (GIMP) to fill in the words
If you do not know how to use the text tool, use MS Paint.
Fonts can be found at dafont.
