I can't believe how many people favourited my fics. That is amazing. And, the alerts! Oh my gosh! The alerts! I only have two multi-chapter fics so I was amazed at that, too!
You guys are amazing! I, honestly, considered sending every single one of you a thank you note. I mean, I haven't checked that account since I signed up for FF so, really, it was just a huge surprise. Of course, I won't bother you guys that much. I'm not really going to send you all a thank you note. Though, if there were less, I definitely would. That's why I was so surprised - the sheer enormousness of it all hit me...like a brick! Stop throwing bricks! Haha!
I really don't know what to say. It might not be a lot to you (I didn't count, or I'd tell you the number!), but it really means so much to me.
Honestly, I thought I had about five to ten readers for Mon Espoir, considering the number of different people who have reviewed. But, no, I had quite a few more.
It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least.
I really want to give you all a hug right now.
I know, I know, you all don't want to hug me. Who would? Haha.
Oh, speaking of the number of people who read - there's one more thing I noticed. Like I said, I thought I only had five to ten readers because of the number of different people who review. Apparently, I don't. That kind of makes me sad, in a way, too. Why? Well, it means none of the others reviewed. The only way, usually, that I would know that you read it is if you review. The chances of me checking that account are slim to none. I only checked it on a random urge. So, really... I'm not saying this because I'm a review hoar (or I might be...you never know...still...)
PLEASE REVIEW.
I'm not even kidding when I said that that is, probably, the only way that I would know that you read. So, altogether, it's rather depressing. I really did put a lot of thought and work into Mon Espoir. It took three months of planning and plotting and still more plotting while writing and the chapters take long to write. I try my hardest, really, I do.
The thought also crossed my mind - hey, my stories might be entertaining a bunch of quiet, shy, non-talkative people. So, I implore you to review. Don't be shy. I love hearing from you guys. It really does make my day. And, ask anyone who has reviewed, even if it's just one word, I reply to every single review that comes my way. So, please review.
So, yes, that was the most pleasant surprise this week since Fen Jien Ren-san updated Our Greatest Secret. It definitely gets honourable mention. It is amazing. Read it sometime.
Oh, speaking of honourable mentions...
Honourable Mentions of Today (And longer):
Dior Crystal (Mel) (diornamelia on dA) - I'm so happy to be working with you and you're nice enough to put up with my procrastinating on Mon Espoir. Thank you so much!! :') You've been an awesome friend, too. You tolerate me acting like a moron and being slower than humanly possible. It's also fun joking around. XD I think Grimmjow and Ulquiorra are the innocent victims, too. Aizen loves his cookies. Oh, but he likes cucumbers, too! Right? Haha. Grimmjow is a vampire kitty who wears wedding dresses at night and kitty ears and a tail and saves the world from evil like catwoman! Yeah, enough said - we have fun.
StarRai of Helenshia (DarkGirl088 on dA) - Waaaah! I don't even know where to start!! From dA to FF - you've been amazing. Exceptionally patient, too, I dare say. You review every single time and, maybe you're not the only one, but not only on FF - you bother to take the time to leave comments almost everywhere on dA. It really does make my day to see that you bothered to take the time to, honestly, think about it. Thank you so much! -hugs-
Fen Jien Ren (same on dA) - For living. Seriously, I was worried about you! You suddenly disappeared but, no, you came back!! -hugs- :') Yey for being alive!! Your writing never ceases to awe me (not to mention, confuse my little, malfunctional brain). Still, it is amazing. Well-written. And, it's also the style/type/genre of writing I adore. Haha. I'm a person for depressing writing. Well, that type of writing, anyway. Depressing isn't quite the word.
Recommended Fanfics (GrimmUlqui):
These are newer, on-going, multi-chapter fanfics.
My Personal Taste - Our Greatest Secret by Fen Jien Ren
If you're like me, you like stories that have a somber, sort of melancholic mood - balancing between slightly angsty (in the style of romance) with a touch of insecurity and confusion. Innocence is the word. Our Greatest Secret strikes me as well plotted out and slightly confusing - but in a good way. It's not something for light reading, I dare say. It's something that you would sit down and take your time reading. It isn't something to be rushed through because, then, it can get mind-boggling. I fnd it well-written and very interesting.
Exciting and Enticing - Catwalk by pretense
This one really caught my eye. The title itself struck me as interesting. The summary is interesting, too. When I first started reading, I was tempted to stop. It seemed a little cliche. However, don't stop! Keep reading on! It gets much more interesting! I can't even bare to wait for updates! Haha. It's worth the wait, though. Amazing fanfic, this one is. Again, an amazingly well-written one. One of a kind. I commend pretense for writing this. It really keeps a reader on their toes. A gorgeous piece of literature, altogether.
Extremely Popular and Not Without Reason - Lessons in Love by Dior Crystal
People think that popularity comes without reason. No, Lessons in Love is popular with reason. It's your classic romantic comedy with a twist and a touch of angst for effect. It's happy and funny. This is my light reading type of story. It can make you cry, it will make you laugh. Without a doubt, it will pull at your heart. Enough said about this one lest I give it away. It speaks for itself. Just because it's nearing the end doesn't mean it's getting any worse. It's still just as good to read. This one really made me a die-hard GrimmUlqui fan.
Ridiculously Funny, Bordering on Crack - Just Like A Girl by Dior Crystal
Noticing a pattern? Hardly! The tone of Just Like A Girl may seem reminiscent of Lessons in Love - but don't let it fool you! It's the best laugh (in terms of GrimmUlqui) I've had in a long time. Ulquiorra? Turned into a girl? Kiorra? What? What's not to like? Crack-ish, but not too much. I don't think anyone can not read this one after looking at the title and the summary.
Touchdown on Angst - Finally! - Forbidden by Dior Crystal
Personally, this is my favourite genre of writing. You might think that, after two suggestions, I'd be done with putting Melissa here? No, her writing's much too good for that. Showing that she can go outside of comedy, she jumped completely out of her box and wrote this angsty fanfic - Forbidden. The storyline might seem a bit redundant but no one's written it quite as well as she has. It's a true tale of tragedy, rivaling The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. Of course, I'm not sure if this one will have a good or bad ending. We'll just have to see. I'm not the only one excited. This one made me cry - a real tearjerker. I know that I won't be the only one who will be needing a box of tissues after this. (Or two)
Vampires and Detectives - A True, Horrific Thriller - Scarlet Trail by Dior and Chiharu
Self advertising? No, no, no. Scarlet Trail is my first attempt at a true horrific thriller. From fight scenes to murder - there is no end to the excitement. Plus, writing this with Melissa just makes it all the more amazing, don't you think? This is outside both of our comfort zones - a step into gore and blood. I don't think I really mind that much. It's bound to get exciting. I know you'll be biting your nails.
The True Heart of Crack - Apartment Complex? Yes It Is by Windy Dayze
Another crack fic? No, no - this one is much worse (better, really). I've never read crack and liked it this much. Homophobic Aizen? Ichimaru and Szayel? An apartment complex? Ice cream? Need I say more? Go read it! Aizen's crazy ideas and antics really will make you laugh until your sides hurt!
That's it for honourable mentions. You should check out all these people and fanfics out. Allie out. :)

Melissa's Recommendation(s):
Generally, we chose the same things. The only one differing was one of my own. I was surprised, to say the least.
Mon Espoir by ChiharuSato22
"At first I did not really want to read this, being the fussy reader that I am, but after I read the prologue, I decided to give it a try. There's just something about it that drew me towards it. So I kept on reading. The concept where Grimmjow is retelling his past experiences with Ulquiorra to Nnoitra, from how he met Ulquiorra right to where the two of them fell in love. is interesting. I don't really like OCs but I like them in this fic. Grimmjow's mother is my personal favourite. The story is real and the interactions between both Grimmjow and Ulquiorra is very cute. Grimmjow will make you want to smack his head for being so thickheaded at first and you will just love Ulquiorra. None of the characters are OOC either. Overall, a very well done story and I can't wait for more."
